Jets Coach Rex Ryan Bench Mark Sanchez

Now that the season is over, Coach Rex Ryan did what he should have done weeks ago, bench Mark Sanchez.

As a fan, I don't see the reason for benching Sanchez at this moment, unless you plan on making a quarterback switch next season. The question is, will Ryan even be there himself.

Now, before I go any further I won't just put all the blame on Ryan. I really blame the GM for not providing Ryan with a second string quarterback. Instead they go and get Tim Tebow. We must all face the fact that Tebow is not a quarterback that can come in and score points. He is a special player that you can use on special downs.Maybe that was the reason Ryan had no choice but to stick with Sanchez.

Sanchez is like most USC Trojans quarterbacks that make it to the NFL, they are overrated. If you were to go back and look at the schedule of former USC quarterbacks that turn pro, you would discover that they were playing teams that they could dominate and because of that you never see if the players really have talent. Putting up 60 points a game against unranked teams can make anybody look good. The same goes for Tim Tebow when he was at Florida. Nobody on the schedule to really really compete against.

Even though the Jets won the game on Sunday 7-6 against the Arizona Cardinals, it was one of the worst, if not the worst game ever played in the NFL. Sanchez had 3 interceptions before we could even blink our eyes good. The Cardinal only came up with 2 field goals so that says a lot about them also.

The Jets have a lot of talent and if they can just find a quarterback that could protect the ball, they could still compete with any team.

Did Norv Turner Cause The San Diego Chargers To Lose Monday Night?

Looking at the NFL this year has been tough in a sense. What I mean is I have witness some good football, then watch as coaches put their teams in bad positions.

To me a coaches primary responsibility is to get their team prepared for the upcoming team. Once that is accomplished, it's their responsibilty to put their teams in position to win ball games and not cost them 2-3 games a season with their play calling.

Now last night on Monday night football, we saw as the an Diego Chargers went into halftime with a commanding 24 point lead against the Denver Broncos. Now as a coach, you know adjustments have to be made at halftime.

Down by 24 points at the half, Denver had no choice but to get aggresive on both sides of the ball. The Chargers coaching staff should know this. Instead of working with the clock and just move the ball for first downs with run plays and passes, coaches just continued to let Rivers get hammered and cough up the ball. Even if you don't get but 2 first downs a series, keeping that clock ticking in the second half means less possessions for the Broncos.Points off turnovers in the second half is the coaches fault, even though it was Rivers who coughed it up.

Last monday night, we saw how the Jets coaching staff were calling all their time outs in the game against the Texans because they could not get the right personnel in the game. After Tebow runs one play, they have to call time out because of switching quarterbacks. This happened twice during the game. Not one of these quarterbacks were able to get in a groove because of the switching. Not only were they not controlling the clock, their play calling was just ridiculous. All those trick plays were just not necessary.

After the Jets score and bring the team within 6 points with 6 minutes to go, the dam coach calls an onside kick. The Texans recover with a short field and seals the game with a field goal. So instead of a one possession game and letting your defense do its job, the coaching staff gives the opposing team the ball with a short field and kills their chances.

For the sake of this article, I want get into the calls from the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff. Coaches need to just coach the game and quit causing their team the chance to win each game.

Have you seen any games that you felt coaches caused the team a chance to win the game. Leave your comment below to discuss.

Denver Broncos Makes A Second Half Charge To Defeat The Chargers On Monday Night Football

The San Diego Chargers were on their way to what appeared to be a blowout against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Special Teams played a huge factor in the first quarter, as 2 fumbles lead to 10 points for the Chargers. Things didn't get any better as Peyton Manning gets intercepted for another Chargers score. Chargers went into halftime leading the Broncos 24-0.

Second half was totally reversed as we witness the Chargers turning the ball over and not scoring a single point, and the Broncos scoring at will.

The defense of the Broncos really took over this game in the second half getting turnovers and giving the Broncos momentum.

The Broncos gets their first lead in the game with 9:09 left in the fourth quarter, as Manning connects with Stokely for a 21 yard touchdown to give them a 28-24 advantage.

As Phillip Rivers tries to lead his team back, the Broncos intercepts a pass and takes it in for a touchdown and seals the game for Denver 35-24.

On the night Manning completed 24-30 passes for 309 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Houston Texans Defeats New York Jets On Monday Night Football

Last night the Houston Texans remains undefeated as they defeated the New York Jets 23-17. Looking at this game last night, I believe the Jets could have defeated the Texans.

The coaching staffing primary responsibility is to get their team prepared for whoever their playing. Once the game begins, their job is to put their team in a position to win each game.

I thought the Jets coaching staff really cost this team the oppotunity to win this game. I thought I was watching a college game looking at all the trick plays the Jets were trying to run. If you can get away with one trick play in the NFL you have accomplished a goal, but trying to run several is just bad coaching.

Now, I will let you know why I believe the coaching staff were responsible for this lost. In the 4th quarter, the Jets scored a touchdown on special teams, which brought the Jets to within a 1 possession game 6 points). We all know that possessions and time outs are crucial in the 4th quarter.

After scoring this touchdown and putting the team in a position to win the game, the dumb coaching staff kicks an on-side kick, which was recovered by the Texans. It was still 6 minutes or more to go in the game so this was not necessary. The Texans with a SHORT FIELD because of the on-side kick goes on to score a field goal and now makes it a two possession game leading by 9 points. The Jets didn't recover from this and lose the game by 6 points.

In closing, I think the Jets need to quit trying to run Tebow and Sanchez in and out. They cost themselves 2 timeouts because of personnel mistakes. If you are going to play two quarterbacks, then let them play a series. Rex Ryan needs to quit being a cocky coach and costing his team the chance of winning games.

If you watched this game and saw different, or saw more leave a comment in the section below.

Will Philadelphia Eagles Michael Vick Bounce Back From Week 1 Disaster

Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacker Michael Vick looked horrible in week 1 against the  weak Cleveland Brown.Vick threw 4 interceptions, but when it counted lead his team on a 91 yard drive to win the game 17-16.

This week the Eagles has the Baltimore Ravens who can put up big points. If the Eagles get down early, will Vick try to force things and have another bad day. Last week looking at Vick, it just seem he was not mentally in the game from the start. Staring down receivers you are about to throw too is the number one sin for a quarterback, because corners reads quarterback eyes. Now I know Vicks wears that shield to avoid that, but when his head is turned toward a receiver for a couple seconds, corners are reading that.

Vick definitely needs to have a better game, but also Andy Reid needs to take pressure off Vick. Throwing the ball 56 times in the first game of the season is not a balance offense. Reid will have to have a better game plan against the Ravens. Should be a great game.

My prediction is the Eagles will not score enough to win this game and will lose by 10.

Peyton Manning Leads The Broncos Against The Steelers

The Denver Broncos opened up their season Sunday at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The question was how would Peyton Manning respond to being back on the field after missing almost 2 years of football.Wow did he answer that question.

Manning seem to lead the Broncos downfield at will against the aging Steelers defense. In the second half, the Broncos scored on every possession but one. On the night Manning was 19-26 253 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was just great to see the mind game that Manning displayed with Troy Polamalu.

Trailing the Broncos by 6 with 2 minutes remaining in the game, Big Ben has a chance to march the Steelers downfield for what would have been a winning touchdown. Instead he was intercepted by cornerback Tracy Porter, who returned it for a touchdown and sealed the game for Denver. The Broncos goes on to win the game 19-31.

After the game, Peyton told reporter that it was just one game and he must keep that in perpective. What a start for Manning!

RGIII Looks Great In NFL Debut Against Buffalo Bills

For Footballs fans around the country, Thursday night couldn't get here fast enough. Even though we all knew that there would be a lot of sloppy play and penalties from players, we were just happy to see the helmets back on.

For the Washington Redskins, RGIII looked very impressive in his NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills. He was 4-6 for 70 yards, including a 20 yard touchdown to Pierre Garcon on his third series. He also threw 3 passes for over 15 yards, which is what Washington was missing from quarterback play last season.

Even though RG played well in his debut, we need to keep in mind this is only preseason. Things will get a lot faster and coaches will try and shut Washington running game down, making him make quick decisions in the regular season.

Washington goes on to win the game 7-6.

Miami Heat Ties Series 2-2 Against The Indiana Pacers

The Miami Heat bounced back to even the series 2-2 against the Indiana Pacers. This game started as the previous games. Dwayne Wade in the first half had another terrible half, while Lebron James was living up to his MVP status.

This game was a crucial game for the heat trying to avoid going down 3-1 in a best of seven series. After the spat with his coach and a horrible shooting game, Dwayne Wade decided he would get away and get refocused. Visiting Indiana University, Wade had his college coach to meet him there to give him advise on what he needed to do. Boy did it pay off. After having a bad first half, Wade came out blazing in the second half, finishing the game with 30 points.

Lebron is playing on another level in this series. He single handed kept the heat in the game in the first half. He is on a mission like no other. Maybe it was the choke sign that Indiana bench was gesturing in game 3 after a missed freethrow by Lebron that lit a fire in James. Lebron finished the game with 40 points and 1 assist shy of a triple double.

The Heat has regained home court advantage and now has the momentum rolling in their favor. If Wade and Lebron execute a full game like they did the second half of this game, the pacers may be in some serious trouble the rest of the way. The series is now a best of 3 series and game 5 will give either team a big advantage.

Junior Seau Found Dead In His California Home

Ex-NFL player Junior Seau was found dead in his California home this morning by his girlfriend.Reports are that a single gunshot to the chest was the cause of death.Suicide is the unofficial cause of death until further investigation.

The USC Trojan played his NFL career with several different teams including San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots.

The NFL is a very dangerous contact sport because of impacts on collisions.Even though over the last couple of season the NFL has tried to put together rules for players taking shots to the head and suffering serious concussions, there still raise the question about players that have been in the league for a decade or more.Could repeated blows to the head during an NFL career play a major factor in the suicides in contact sports.

Ex Chicago Bears Dave Duerson committed suicide not long ago with a self inflicted gunshot wound and now Junior Seau.Could it be that these are 2 isolated incidents by 2 ex-football players?

Our prayers goes out to the family of #55 Junior Seau.

Ron Artest (World Peace) Gives Oklahoma City Thunders Hardin An Elbow

After doing so well over the past several years, Ron Artest, or should I say World Peace, was anything but peaceful. The Los Angeles Lakers were at home against the Oklahoma City Thunders in what turned to be a great basketball game down the stretch.

Late in the second quarter as the Lakers were trying to make their way back from an embarrasing beating,Ron Artest makes an thunderous dunk and brings the crowd to their feet. But while bringing the crowd to THEIR FEET, he brings Thunders guard OFF HIS FEET.

While beating his chest, celebrating his thunderous dunk, Artest draws back with everything he has and just level Hardin, giving him a concussion. Hardin did not return to the game as doctors determined right before the third quarter that Hardin was not all there.

Artest was ejected from the game and no doubt will receive a suspension from the league for his action. After the game he gave an apology for his conduct, but there is no place for an uncalled, unprovoked, elbow to a man's temper.

So, after seeing the league preparing for the playoffs this week, there have been some rough play from several players including Dwayne Wade and Lebron James. I love a physical game, but is hitting people in the head with elbows called for?

I think that before the playoffs start, the league needs to take a good look into the action of some of their star players and send a warning before things get out of hand.

What do you think about Ron Artest elbow to Hardins temper and what should be his suspension,if any? Has he gone back to the old Artest, or was this just a one time incident? Let me know what you think!
By the way, the Lakers came back from 17 points down to beat the Thunders in overtime.
