Giants Defeats Bears 41-13 in Preseason Game

After a slow start by both team, the NYG handed the Chicago Bears a 41-13 loss. The first quarter started off very sluggest by both teams. The Giants after going 0-5 in 3rd down conversions started this game 0-2 in 3rd down conversions. At the start of the 2nd quarter Giants started dominating the game. Eli Manning played almost all of the 1st half and finished 8-16 for 78 yds. He was very impressive at reading the defense and calling audibles at the line of scrimmage.Special Teams for the Giants did a great job last night. A couple of great returns on kickoffs and a blocked punt which led to a touchdown.

The Bears, however, looked sluggish through the entire game. Cutler managed to throw 3 passes for over 30 yards a play, but that was about the sum of things.Marion Barber, who was aquired from the Dallas Cowboys played well.He was brought to this team to keep drives alive on 3rd down and short yardage. He fail to get into the enzone on a 3rd and 4th down play from the 2 yard line. They will have to do a better job and convert those plays into touchdowns. The Bears are still trying to develop a down the field, quick strike offense. Because of this, Jay Cutler lead the NFL in getting sack last season. He was sack once for every nine attempts. The offensive coordinator came under fire because of the number of hits Cutler was taking. This preseason the offensive line has done a better job of protecting him. If the bears want to continue to throw for big plays, Forte will have to have a great season in order for them to do this.In my opinion, the Bears are going to struggle again this season if they don't let Forte be the center of their offense. This should be an interesting season for the Bears and Lovie Smith.
