The NFL season is nowhere near and Tim Tebow name has already caused a stir in the media. Since Tebow has been in the NFL, in my opinion, he has been treated unfairly. Was it his fault that their was high expectations from him?
For the record let me say I never felt Tim Tebow was an NFL quarterback. Following his college days in Florida, he always was a wildcat type quarterback and was very good at it. He probably had more rushing yards than passing yards, so why when he reaches the NFL we expect him to be a passing quarterback. The media has made it a circus everywhere Tebow has gone.
If an NFL team was smart they would find what was Tebow strength and build on it. We all know he can run with the football, so maybe teaching him how to catch and block can turn him into a very good tight end. With his size he could be very good. Look at what happened with Matt Jones, who was a college quarterback, but turned into a pretty decent tight end.
As of right now NFL teams say that they don't want the media distractions Tebow brings with him, so he has not been picked up by anyone. Lets face it Tebow is a great marketer for the NFL. Even though this guy rarely gets into games, he is selling jerseys and tickets. People want to see this guy. If you look at it from that stand point, there are a lot of teams that could use his service. From a team stand point, teach him a new position, while he is young, where he could flourish and contribute.
The media will do what they do best and that is stir controversy because that's their job. It's what sells in their industry. I would hope that NFL owners and coaches would look pass the media and find out how they could best use Tebow, because with his passion and good teaching he can be a darn good football player.
If you were a NFL owner or coach, would you take a chance on Tebow? If so, would you keep him as a quarterback or would you try to teach him a new position? Give me your opinion on what you think he needs to make it in the NFL.
