Did Eagles Coach Cost Them The Football Game Against The San Diego Chargers?

Ok sports fans, do you believe Eagles Chip Kelly will be a great NFL coach? Don't get me wrong, I think he has a brilliant mind when it comes to offensive schemes that can produce a lot of points on the board. With the right talent, teams can average 30-40 points a game because of the number of plays that are run.

But what happens when a team continues to score with you and tough decisions has to be made at the end of a game. Will Kelly have the ability to out coach a veteran coach down the stretch?

During his coaching days at the University Of Oregon, the Ducks were winning by large margins over mediocre teams, which means there were no need for tough decisions down the stretch. But this is not college nor is this Oregon. The NFL is a different breed when it comes to making adjustments.

On Monday Night Football we saw a glimpse of what the Eagles could do on the field. Not only did we see it but the San Diego Chargers saw it too. That's why we saw a different game on Sunday. San Diego came out and just ripped the Eagles weakness up...THE DEFENSE! That defense couldn't stop nothing the Chargers threw at them.

Because San Diego were able to score a lot of points on the Eagle, it came down to coaching at the end of the game.

With over 2 minutes left in the game and the Eagles only needing a field goal to tie, coach Kelly decides to continue running his fast pace, quick strike offense. In the blink of an eye they are within their reach of sending this game into overtime or winning with a touch down. Eagles Alex Henery kicks a 32 yard field goal to tie the game. There is only 1 problem. Because of the hurry up offense, the Eagles leaves Phillip Rivers 1:51 on the clock against a very tired Eagles defense. Rivers drives his team down the field and Nick Novak kicks a 46 yard field goal to win the game.

This probably would have never happened if Kelly would have properly managed the clock down the stretch, instead of going for a quick score. At least it could have made the Chargers burn some timeouts.

I believe Kelly cost his team the chance to send the game into overtime by not slamming on the breaks when it was needed. If you watched this game, what are your thoughts of his coaching down the stretch. Should he have kept the same tempo or should he have managed the clock? Let me know what your thoughts are in the comment section.
