Did Eagles Coach Cost Them The Football Game Against The San Diego Chargers?

Ok sports fans, do you believe Eagles Chip Kelly will be a great NFL coach? Don't get me wrong, I think he has a brilliant mind when it comes to offensive schemes that can produce a lot of points on the board. With the right talent, teams can average 30-40 points a game because of the number of plays that are run.

But what happens when a team continues to score with you and tough decisions has to be made at the end of a game. Will Kelly have the ability to out coach a veteran coach down the stretch?

During his coaching days at the University Of Oregon, the Ducks were winning by large margins over mediocre teams, which means there were no need for tough decisions down the stretch. But this is not college nor is this Oregon. The NFL is a different breed when it comes to making adjustments.

On Monday Night Football we saw a glimpse of what the Eagles could do on the field. Not only did we see it but the San Diego Chargers saw it too. That's why we saw a different game on Sunday. San Diego came out and just ripped the Eagles weakness up...THE DEFENSE! That defense couldn't stop nothing the Chargers threw at them.

Because San Diego were able to score a lot of points on the Eagle, it came down to coaching at the end of the game.

With over 2 minutes left in the game and the Eagles only needing a field goal to tie, coach Kelly decides to continue running his fast pace, quick strike offense. In the blink of an eye they are within their reach of sending this game into overtime or winning with a touch down. Eagles Alex Henery kicks a 32 yard field goal to tie the game. There is only 1 problem. Because of the hurry up offense, the Eagles leaves Phillip Rivers 1:51 on the clock against a very tired Eagles defense. Rivers drives his team down the field and Nick Novak kicks a 46 yard field goal to win the game.

This probably would have never happened if Kelly would have properly managed the clock down the stretch, instead of going for a quick score. At least it could have made the Chargers burn some timeouts.

I believe Kelly cost his team the chance to send the game into overtime by not slamming on the breaks when it was needed. If you watched this game, what are your thoughts of his coaching down the stretch. Should he have kept the same tempo or should he have managed the clock? Let me know what your thoughts are in the comment section.

New England Releases Tim Tebow

It has been reported that Tim Tebow will not be wearing a Patriots uniform this year. Tebow was cut yesterday by New England, but not to worry because some crazy team will pick him up and try making him a quarterback.

I have been writing on Tim Tebow since his college days at Florida. I think he is one of the most competitive players out there, but quarterback is not his strength and for the life of me I can't figure out why coaches don't see this.

If Tebow is to succeed in this business he will have to develop into a tightend or fullback. If a team can teach him routes and how to catch, he could potentially be a very good pro player.

Matt Jones was a very good quarterback for Arkansas, but when he made it to the pro he became a tightend  for Jacksonville, and a very good one at that.I believe Tebow is in the same boat. I'm tired of everytime I look around Tebow is in the news. Either you can or can't be an nfl player.

What is your opinion of Tebow once again being released from a team? Do you believe he needs to be placed in another position? Leave a comment!

Will Michael Vick Or Nick Foles Start For The Philadelphia Eagles

I know it's still training camp and the first pre-season game is still a couple days away vs the New England Patriots, but the battle of these two quarterbacks for the starting position is a heated one.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly says he doesn't know who is the starter right now. What he's looking at in these two players is who will be able to move the ball.

We all know that the Eagles has some injuries on the team, especially at wide receivers, but that will not be an issue with Chip Kelly decision. It doesn't matter who is on the field, if the quarterback can't move the ball he will not be the starter for long.

What I'm most interested in as a football fan is not who will start the game for the Eagles, but who gets the most REPS with the first team. That gives you a chance to gauge what's on the mind of the coaching staff.

Nick Foles has had opportunities to take the starting position from Michael Vick and has not done so. I look for Vick to be the starter when September rolls around.

Who do you believe will be the starter for the Eagles come September?

Where Is Tim Tebow Playing?

The NFL season is nowhere near and Tim Tebow name has already caused a stir in the media. Since Tebow has been in the NFL, in my opinion, he has been treated unfairly. Was it his fault that their was high expectations from him?

For the record let me say I never felt Tim Tebow was an NFL quarterback. Following his college days in Florida, he always was a wildcat type quarterback and was very good at it. He probably had more rushing yards than passing yards, so why when he reaches the NFL we expect him to be a passing quarterback. The media has made it a circus everywhere Tebow has gone.

If an NFL team was smart they would find what was Tebow strength and build on it. We all know he can run with the football, so maybe teaching him how to catch and block can turn him into a very good tight end. With his size he could be very good. Look at what happened with Matt Jones, who was a college quarterback, but turned into a pretty decent tight end.

As of right now NFL teams say that they don't want the media distractions Tebow brings with him, so he has not been picked up by anyone. Lets face it Tebow is a great marketer for the NFL. Even though this guy rarely gets into games, he is selling jerseys and tickets. People want to see this guy. If you look at it from that stand point, there are a lot of teams that could use his service. From a team stand point, teach him a new position, while he is young, where he could flourish and contribute.

The media will do what they do best and that is stir controversy because that's their job. It's what sells in their industry. I would hope that NFL owners and coaches would look pass the media and find out how they could best use Tebow, because with his passion and good teaching he can be a darn good football player.

If you were a NFL owner or coach, would you take a chance on Tebow? If so, would you keep him as a quarterback or would you try to teach him a new position? Give me your opinion on what you think he needs to make it in the NFL.
